TRADITIONAL RING (RED STONE)
On one side of the ring is McClain Hall tower. Dr. Alva J. McClain was the founder and first president of Grace Schools and McClain Hall was the first building on Grace campus. The tower also houses a room set aside exclusively for prayer, so important to Grace Seminary's philosophy. The tower is surrounded with the letters abbreviating the degree with which you graduated from Grace Theological Seminary. Below the tower is the founding year of the seminary, 1937.
On the other side of the traditional ring is the seal of Grace Seminary that has been a symbol for Grace since 1950. Inscribed across the top of the shield is the Greek word that means GRACE. Across the center of the shield are three other symbols. The large cross between two other crosses symbolizes Christ's death at Calvary. The crown represents Christ's present exaltation in heaven at the Father's right hand. The seven-branched candelabrum suggests Christ's present ministry as the Great High Priest and Lord among the churches. At the base of the shield is the open Bible with the text indicated at Ephesians 2:8-10. The words: Winona Lake and the year of your graduation surround the Grace seal.
An option is given to have an inset gold cross on the red stone meant to reflect GTS's emphasis on Christ's work on the cross.
